Carrier411 CSV File Download Feature

Welcome to the developer documentation for our CSV File Download feature.

If you monitor thousands of carriers, then you know how time-consuming the process of manually updating records in your software can be. Consider the consequences if you overlook updating certain carriers.

Integration with Carrier411 using our CSV File Download feature can automate the update process, save you valuable time, improve efficiency, and help protect your business from using the wrong carriers.

As an alternative to our more robust Web Services Interface, we can provide access to a comma-separated values (CSV) file that gets created on demand.

Compared to accessing data with our Web Services Interface, our CSV File Download feature provides an easier (but more limited) way to access critical information about all the companies monitored by your Carrier411 account.

Carrier411 CSV file data provides the current authority status, insurance, safety ratings and SafeStat scores for you to integrate with your transportation software system. Again, it does this for all the companies being monitored by your Carrier411 account.

In simple terms, your server communicates with our server. By scheduling one daily request to our CSV File Download feature, your software system can keep its database up-to-date automatically within a matter of seconds.

Want to Start Using Our CSV File Download Feature?
If you have questions or would like to start downloading CSV files for your account, please call us today at (888) 411-9661. Access to our CSV File Download feature is disabled by default. It is only available to Carrier411 customers with an active account, and it is not available for trial accounts. This optional add-on feature can be enabled for an additional $49.00 per month. Carrier411 reserves the right to allow access to the CSV File Download feature.

How to Initiate CSV File Download

First, you must have an active Carrier411 account, and the CSV File Download feature must be enabled for your account. When your server invokes the following URL string, a CSV file will be created at that moment. It will begin downloading automatically.

CSV file creation may take between 5 seconds and 30 seconds, depending on the number of companies monitored by your Carrier411 account.

URL String to Create CSV File
http://www.carrier411.com/createcsvfile.cfm?username=xxx&password=yyy
Substitute xxx with your Carrier411 username and yyy with your password.
Unless &header=0 (optional parameter) is specified in the above URL string, a file header row will be included in the CSV file by default.
Schedule Schedule your server to invoke the above URL string one time only in the morning, between 7:45 AM and 9:00 AM EST. Schedule this event every Monday through Friday morning. Do not download in the evening or night, because data is updated in the early morning.
Purpose Creates comma-separated values (CSV) file upon request.
Includes data (detailed below) for all the companies monitored by your Carrier411 account.
Errors Any errors will produce a FaultCode when the URL string is invoked.

FaultCode 1: Username and password not provided.
FaultCode 2: Username not provided.
FaultCode 3: Password not provided.
FaultCode 4: Invalid username or password.
FaultCode 5: Account inactive.
FaultCode 6: Account suspended.
FaultCode 7: Trial accounts cannot download CSV files.
FaultCode 8: CSV file download not activated for account.

Parameters username -- Carrier411 username (Required).
password -- Carrier411 password (Required).
header -- 1 or 0 (Optional). Include &header=0 for no header row.
